Food Sensitivity Screening (EAV or Vega Screening) Electrodermal screening provides information about the health of the body. All imbalances affect the health of the body and can be accurately measured by the level of conductivity in the skin response. Just as EKGs are used to determine the electrical conduction and health of the heart, electrodermal screening uses a small, pen-like probe and an undetectable electrical current to measure the response of the skin at various points on the hands and feet. These points are based on the Chinese acupuncture meridian system, which maps the channels of energy that run throughout the body and come to the surface of the skin. The test involves the patient holding a large hand electrode (the ground), while the physician touches an acupuncture point with a blunt tip electrode. The resultant resistance is then measured. The response of the person to the individual food substances results in a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ reading, as tested on one acupuncture measurement point. There are no gradations of measurement (such as mild, moderate, strong). It is a non-invasive energetic evaluation which research has suggested is about 70% accurate. I screen for over 200 food substances which cannot be tested with most other methods of evaluation. I use EAV as an investigative tool to determine the presence of possible sensitivities to foods, or other substances without directly exposing the patient to the potential irritant. It produces immediate results in a simple pain-free way. The doctor will explain how the patient can utilize this information (usually through a 6 week process of elimination and then reintroduction) in order to improve health and well-being. * Click here for additional information on EAV Screening MRSA The increasing prevalence of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in hospitals and the community is a direct result of the over-use of prescription antibiotics. MRSA is considered a “super-bug” and is showing increasing resistance to topical agent mupirocin as well as other antibiotics. Dr. McCool treats MRSA successfully without the use of antibiotics. Drainage therapies as well as natural antimicrobials are used to kill the bacteria, while strengthening the individuals’ immune system to prevent future infections and complications. |
